mini_nanowrimo entry again uses the visual prompt. I'm not actually sure whose POV this is. I'm assuming one of the Americans, maybe even Sheppard, but he doesn't quite have the right old West drawl. What can they do about the Wraith anyway? Force them into small odd space like the Reavers? Oh and less than 1000 words before 50K. I'm a happy happy camper.
Good fences make good neighbors. Obviously Robert Frost never visited the Pegasus Galaxy. The Wraith don't have any concept of borders or boundaries. By their way of thinking, we're the ones who trespassed on their hunting grounds. They're merely defending their turf. Their Hive ships are all over the place. How could we begin to gather them together into one region? The Wraith Neutral Zone somehow doesn't have the same ring to it. They're just too damn many of them. Corralling them would have the same effect as on mean old animals -- they'd just fight harder. We saw that with the Atlantis shield. They barraged it with their weapons, hoping it'd eventually crash. We could only send them away by playing sneaky. Maybe that's the only way to compensate for the higher numbers. If only it was as easy as lining the fence with barbed wire here... I'd hate to have to patrol this range.
