Writing moments
Nov. 10th, 2005 02:28 pmOkay I'm amused. I'm listening to the latest WrimoRadio podcast and in the Forum round-up, they're discussing the soundtrack forum. When discussing a thread on the oddest music on your playlist, somehow the Muppets came up. Sam the Wrimo Radio guy quoted my favorite Muppet movie, "Great Muppet Caper", although the Sam the Eagle moment ("You are all weirdos!") was a general Muppets quote. For Nano, I'm personally partial to this exchange between Miss Piggy and Lady Holiday (Dame Diana Rigg):
Miss Piggy: Why are you telling me this?
Lady Holiday: It's plot exposition. It has to go somewhere.
What? You haven't had those moments?
Of course, I was also reminded of Pooh-Bah in Mikado recently: "Merely corroborative detail, intended to give artistic verisimilitude to an otherwise bald and unconvincing narrative."
Because stretching the description out a little? Oh yeah!
